Updated: Boys Like Girls Annouce Self-Titled Anniversary Tour

Boston pop punk band Boys Like Girls caused a stir on social media late Sunday night when they changed the profile images on their various social media accounts to an image that feature the number 10 and the artwork to their self-titled debut album which was released 10 years ago this year. Released in August of 2006 the album launched them on to the pop punk scene alongside bands like The Maine, Fall Out Boy, and All American Rejects, the album would go on to reach Gold status.

On Tuesday Boys Like Girls revealed that they will hit the road in August to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of their self titled album by playing the album in it’s entirety. What is still undetermined at this time is if the tour would include original bassist Bryan Donahue who left the band in 2011 prior to the release of their most recent album “Crazy World.” The group have not been very active in recent years, but have played occasional shows and are not considered broken up.

The dates for the tour that have been announced so far are as follows:

8/05 – Boston, MA @ House of Blues
8/06 – New York, NY @ Playstation Theater
8/07 – Sayreville, NJ @ Starland Ballroom
8/10 – Philadelphia, PA @ The Fillmore
8/11 – Columbus, OH @ Newport Music Hall
8/12 – Chicago, IL @ Vic Theatre
