Editor’s note: Anytime an artist releases a song where Boston is a prominent theme in the song, it automatically earns them a special relationship with the city, even when that artist isn’t from the area. (Augustana, The Standells, Kenny Chesney)  Add to that the fairly well-established connection between Boston and Ireland, and what you have is the recepie for an evening you will not forget with Irish singer/songwriter Dermot Kennedy arriving in Boston, to play his song, “Boston” amongst others at a packed to capacity Paradise Rock Club. Kennedy is not your traditional Irish crooner though, his music blends the acoustic sounds of coffeehouse music with the lyrics and beats of modern hip hop for a refeshingly modern sound. Last night Kennedy captivated the crowd at the Comm Ave. rock club with a short, but very sweet 10 song set of his tunes from his lone EP and non-album singles. We were there to capture the scene, check out photos below while listening to Kennedy’s latest tune, “Moments Passed.”
