Editor’s note: Earlier this week Cambridge, MA was hit with a triple dose of dark, electronic-infused rock music. You know the kind, everyone shows up in black skinny jeans and fingerless gloves, it’s a little bit goth, a little bit dance. The first act on the bill was the ultra-talented Kennedy Ashlyn, who performs under the name SRSQ, she is a multi-faceted musician with a soaring voice and a dark vibe that leaves you wanting more the second her set was over. Ashlyn is on the road touring in support of her full-length debut solo album, Unreality, out now. She was once part of the shoegaze-inspired duo. Them Are Us Too before the tragic loss of her bandmate and friend Cash Askew who was killed in the Oakland Ghost Ship fire of 2016. Now performing on her own, her raw talent and emotion are on display every night as she takes the stage. SRSQ was joined by NYC hardcore band Uniform and darktronic trio The Black Queen. Check out photos from the night below.
