Billie Eilish was poised to embark on her first arena tour having just one full-length album in her catalog but the pandemic had different plans for her last year and a half as the world shut down. In a time of darkness, Eilish seemingly was hammering down and writing the empowering tracks that are just a taste of what’s to come with her sophomore album recently announced, Happier Than Ever, (July 30th via Darkroom/Interscope Records). And while it won’t be till February till fans can see the songs live, they are sure to be held over with this seemingly gorgeous record.

If the four songs released so far are any indication of what’s to come on Happier Than Ever, it’s sure to be a wild ride of self-exploration and empowerment that fans are sure to connect with. Be it the anthemic “Therefore I Am” to the hauntingly gorgeous but heartbreaking “Your Power” and “NDA”, this album is going to be one for the books. When it comes to the latter track, in particular, the self-directed visual which included 25 stunt drivers swerving around Eilish in one take, is a haunting video that is sure to be only the tip of the iceberg visually for the album. This, in addition to the video released last year for “Therefore I Am” of course. While not a music video, Vevo also just released a live performance of “Your Power” in a stripped-down performance with just Billie and Finneas. This is going to be a mammoth of a release.

It’s clear how much heartbreak, personal growth, that Eilish has experienced at just 19 years old. Even just in the four songs that have previewed the album, this record is clearly only going to take Eilish’s dominance in music even farther. While fans have to wait to be back at a live show to fully experience it in that sense, it is sure to be worth the wait. Eilish already has a fully sold-out arena tour booked across the US and Europe starting February 3rd in New Orleans. During that tour, she will be continuing her work with Reverb as well, which will include a fan-facing experience titled “Billie Eilish Action Village” at each show. This experience will focus on climate action as well as climate justice. It will also be hosting and supporting BIPOC and women lead environmental organizations.

As we slowly start to see live music coming back, Happier Than Ever is sure to be the anthems and stories that fans will need and the record is sure to be highly rewarded once again. For now, let the singles hold you over and the next months are sure to be some of the biggest moments in Eilish’s already unstoppable career. You can preorder/save the album here!
