PHOTOS: Green Day, Weezer, The Interrupters in Boston, MA (08.05.21)
Editor’s note: This past week marked the return of live music to the biggest music venue in Boston proper, Fenway Park. With the Red Sox on an extended road trip, the iconic ballpark played host to an ambitious five concerts in six days. Thanks in large part to an outstanding local crew, many of whom worked multiple overnight shifts, the whole thing went off without a hitch.
On Thursday night, alternative rock (read: emo) got it’s turn at the plate in the form of Hella Mega Tour, the summer super tour featuring Green Day, Fall Out Boy, Weezer, and The Interrupters. Unfortunately, after a member of their touring party tested positive for COVID, Fall Out Boy had to pull out of the New York and Boston dates. But there was still plenty of fun to be had by the other bands involved in the tour as they teamed up for an unforgettable night of live music and nostalgic hits.
