Connecticut’s Drew Angus shares new single “My Place”

Connecticut-based rising singer/songwriter Drew Angus recently released his latest single, “My Place,” co-written with Mary Violet and co-produced with Grammy Award-winning Mikhail Pivovarov, available on all streaming platforms now.

“My Place” features drummer Jordan Rose, who has played with Cory Wong and Theo Katzman, and Ryan Hommel, who often plays with Amos Lee, on additional guitars.

Inspired by the process of accepting change in life, “My Place” is a soft pop bop that will make the listener want to roll down the windows and drive along an open road with the tune on repeat. It’s described a song of loss and self reflection hidden behind shimmery, upbeat pop production.

“My newest single ‘My Place’ is for anyone who has ever worked through the pain of heartbreak,” said Drew Angus. “In writing this song, I discovered it’s possible to rediscover your happy place, even after a loss. It just requires letting go of all of that negativity from the past, and I put all of that energy into this song.” Drew met Phoenix-based poet and recording artist Mary Violet after a New York publishing company meet-up. They collaborated on “My Place” by drawing on their familiar relationship struggles.
