Self-described Arizona emo group and long-time New England Sounds favorites The Maine were back in New England this week, headlining Boston’s House of Blues. They’re on the road in support of their eighth studio album XOXO: From Love and Anxiety in Real Time which came out last July. As they often do when they’re in the area, the band invited A Rocket to the Moon frontman Nick Santino up on stage to perform with them for a cover of his band’s tune “Like We Used To” much to the delight of the Boston crowd. They were also joined onstage by opener Charlotte Sands to perform “Loved You a Little” which they record with Sands and Taking Back Sunday vocalist Adam Lazzara. Along with Sands, they’re also joined on this tour by cello rockers The Happy Fits. The Maine continue their tour through the end of April, wrapping up in their native Arizona. Additionally, while they won’t be on the lineup this year, the groups’ curated summer touring festival Sad Summer Fest will kick off in July and feature a stop in Worcester on July 23rd. To see this year’s lineup and pick up tickets head over to www.sadsummerfest.com.
