Editor’s note: The pristine MGM Music Hall on Lansdowne St. opened up on Saturday night with a hard rocking set from Massachusetts natives Godsmack. Batting second in the lineup of shows in the new venue was the legendary James Taylor who took it over on Monday and Tuesday nights for back to back shows. The iconic musician is well known for gracing the stages of nearly every Boston area music venue throughout the years, and wanted to get that out of the way early for the area’s newest. The show was the first seated one at MGM and had a much quieter vibe than Saturday’s. Taylor’s quiet dignity was on display for the crowd as he played through his extensive catalog.
