Christina Grimmie 1994-2016
Tragedy has struck the music world once again as pop singer and former contestant on “The Voice” Christina Grimmie, was shot dead after her concert at The Plaza Live in Orlando, FL on Friday night. Grimmie was on tour with boy band Before You Exit and was signing autographs and meeting fans after the concert when a man with a gun walked up and shot Grimmie. The shooter turned the gun on himself and took his own life after being tackled by Grimmie’s brother. Grimmie was rushed to a local hospital where she later passed away.
At this time Orlando police have not named the shooter, but have revealed that he was a 21 year-old white male. Police say early indications are that the gunman was a deranged fan, who traveled from elsewhere to carry out the attack. He was found to be in possession two guns and a knife. of According to police the shooting took place at approximately 10:45pm, 45 minutes after the concert ended. Police estimated that there were around 60 people in the area at the time of the shooting, and none other than Grimmie were physically harmed.
Grimmie was a YouTube star who’s career took off after appearing on NBC’s “The Voice” in 2014. She came in third place in that year’s competition. She had just released her new EP “Side A” in February, Grimmie was signed to Island Records and working on her major label debut album. In 2015 Grimme won the ‘iHeart Radio Rising Star’ award.

Grimmie’s oldest known video
