Hot Show Alert: Lucy Rose @ The Rockwell TONIGHT.

The first time I encountered the undeniably incredible Lucy Rose was when she was storming into the US as a part of Bombay Bicycle Club. Where she shines though is on her own and tonight, Boston is going to be treated to an incredibly intimate show at The Rockwell in Davis Square. The Rockwell, while it does hold concerts, it also operates as a black box theater which reads like a “box” sized room with bleacher style seating rising around it. It’s sold out but for good reason and still deserves a shining light.

Rose’s ethereal voice mesmerizes audiences. While she has played here before both opening and headlining, tonight is sure to be the most special Boston performance yet. With her latest album, “Something’s Changing”, it feels like it’s getting a ghostly, bit of a darker tone to her music but that voice and those words are what keep fans coming back. And it looks like new music is already on the way as she dropped a song already this year with “All That Fear”.

Boston is lucky to get a performance in this size room from a UK darling and Charlie Cunningham will be another taste of the UK music scene as an opener. Both artists are poised for great success and the endless years they’ve put into their work is paying off in full.

Doors are at 7:30. We’ll be there too. Grab the CD, grab yourself a cocktail before at Saloon, the secret speakeasy just down the hallway from the venue and settle in for an incredible night at music!
