Editor’s Note: Canadian synth rockers Metric have always been a consistent force. The opening track “Dark Saturday” on the group’s newest album Art of Doubt perhaps puts it best with the lyrics “I’ll change by staying the same” something Metric have effectively managed to do ever since their 2003 debut album. At a time when retrofuturism is becoming the latest musical trend, Metric have had to make no major adjustments as their music has always blended elements of the 80’s new wave/synthpop movement with those of the early 2000’s guitar rock genre. That consistency had given Metric a loyal and dedicated fan base that make them the arena headlining, chart topping rock stars they are at home in Canada. Last night the band made their way to Boston, MA for what was just the second stop on their 2019 headline tour at Lansdowne St.’s House of Blues. We were on hand to capture scenes from a visually stunning show that featured a co-headline set by recent Grammy winners Zoé and a supporting set from fellow Canadians July Talk. Check out the photos below along with the group’s most recent music video for, “Now or Never Now.”
