In December of 2020 my college roommate came into our room and said that she had found her new favorite artist from a song on Tiktok. Two years later we were able to go to both nights of Maude LaTour playing at Sonia in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Maude is a 22 year old senior at Columbia University in New York and has been touring the east coast while finishing up her last few weeks of her senior year. She found her following with her thousands of fans on Tiktok like many of her social media platforms. Latour writes about her experiences throughout college like dealing with exes, relationships and friendships. Her fan base is a mix of girls from their teens to their twenties who found solace in her relatable music and personable content.

Maude Latour’s Cambridge show sold out in under five minutes, so quickly they added a second date that sold out equally as fast. In preparation for the tour she had asked fans on her Instagram to rank her songs and through that she created her setlist. She opened with her song “Furniture” which was released May of 2020 and would later say how Boston was one of the most sought after shows on the tour. Her energy and clear love for the crowd was evident, being passed flowers onto the stage as well as a knit hat that was made by a fan.

She was supported on her Cambridge shows by Manhattan native and pop singer Raffaella currently signed to Mom+Pop records.

While Maude LaTour is finishing up her senior year, she is set to perform at festivals such as Lollapalooza and All Things Go. Her two night stop in Cambridge proved that she will be back and this will not be the last time we see her in Boston.
