Retro rock quartet Shannon and the Clams returned to New England last night for the first time in six years, and a capacity crowd greeted them in Cambridge, MA. The group are on tour in support of their new album The Moon Is In The Wrong Place which debuted on May 10th. It is a deeply personal album to the band as much of it’s lyrical content was born from personal tragedy after bassist-vocalist Shannon Shaw lost her fiance in an August 2022 car accident. While the themes and lyrics of the album explore Shaw’s unimaginable loss, the melody retains that upbeat and nostalgic Shannon and the Clams sound that their fans have become accustomed to. You can check out photos from last night’s show including some of support act Tropa Magica.
