Boston Calling’s third and final day got a break from mother nature as it was lone day without rain. Though the grounds were still waterlogged from the previous days, and the temperature was in the low 50’s the skies finally stayed clear from the first act to final encore. Philly funk ensemble Snacktime kicked the day off, the seven piece band took to the stage donned in custom basketball jerseys displaying the band name on the front and each member had their last name and a jersey number on the back of their respective jersey.

But the party on Sunday was once again on the Orange Stage, rock outfit Nate Perry & the Ragged Company were the first band to the stage over there. Their Americana inspired rock was a great compliment to the day and an inspiring leadoff set for the Orange Stage.

On the Blue Stage indie rockers iDK HOW brought the alt-rock radio sound. Lead by former Panic! at the Disco bassist Dallon Weekes played songs such as the tongue in cheek tune “Nobody Likes the Opening Band.” That wasn’t true however as a good portion of the early day crowd had made their way over to the Blue Stage for their set.

Back on the local stage, dark rockers Vivid Bloom brought witchy vibes that were complimented well by the cloudy skies. Playing on the day with so many other rock acts made them a perfect fit and a great draw in for the “just walking by” crowd.

Later in the day on the Orange Stage it was pop rockers Copilot who drew one of the weekend’s biggest local stage crowds. Frequently gigging around Boston during the year the group has drawn in a legion of loyal supporters who weren’t about to miss their Boston Calling debut.

NYC based pop rock group Vampire Weekend played the second to last set of the weekend on the Green Stage, and while not from New England, they have enough songs about New England and Cape Cod to capture our attention. Boston Calling veterans from the early days of the festival – when it was still at City Hall Plaza – they made sure to acknowledge how fun it was to see the festival’s growth and to be playing on the campus of such an iconic institution.

Other acts we caught on Sunday were Remi Wolf, Goth Babe, and Public Enemy.
