It was Park National’s last show as a Boston-based project held at Warehouse XI last Thursday. For their final set on tour following the release of You Have To Keep Searching, Liam Fagan performed alongside Charlie Burket, Ezra Geissler, and Jake Michne.

In the midst of their show, Fagan said: “The first ever show that we played in Boston was with Good Sleepy, and it’s such a really cool [full] circle moment to still be ripping it after all these years.”

He continued: “I’m starting a new chapter in my music, a new chapter in my life, and on the way to the show today, I was thinking about what this place means to me and how much you guys mean to me. It’s been really special to be a part of this scene, and we really don’t take places like this for granted.

And he added: “I wanted to let you guys know what this means to me and to us.”

Eventually, all the bands shared the stage with Park National joined in to sing along to a cover of Pinegrove’s “Old Friends.” Fagan concluded: “It really reflects what this place is for me and for this band.”

It was such a pleasure to sing along as well, as it was such a powerful moment that captured the sense of camaraderie of that night. As Park National closes this chapter in Boston, the band holds a lot of promise as Fagan and Geissler embark on their journey in Nashville, TN.

Bug Moment (stylized BUG MOMENT) represented Milwaukee, WI in Boston. They are fronted by Jasmine Rosenblatt joined by Reece Decorah, Gray Edwards, Aidan Hoppens, and Seth Hoppens. At Warehouse XI, they played tracks like “Artiber” and “Moonlight Greatsword” from their latest EP, The Lazer Collection, released last March.

One thing about Bug Moment is they’re worth all the word-of-month buzz that comes their way. It was already a fantastic bill, but they made that night even more special. Bug Moment has an interactive stage presence that easily draws the audience in. The crowd just discovered more of what the alternative scene has to offer.

It was If Kansas Had Trees’ debut set in Boston last Thursday and they made quite the first impression. Joey Nardone, Maddux Testa, and Stone Magagna primarily make up If Kansas Had Trees from Wilkes-Barres, PA and they’ve been touring their latest album, Where You Thought You Would Be with notable standouts like “Decay” and “Swallow.” If Kansas Had Trees were keen on getting the crowd to move around. The audience eventually lit up the room, creating a huge pit to wreak havoc. It was a wild moment, but also a highlight of their performance. In my opinion, If Kansas Had Trees makes songs that are too energetic to not dance to. It was great that fans showed up for it, welcoming the band to the Boston local scene.

Good Sleepy had been on the road for about a month before they made their last stop in Boston. Composed of bandmates Ryan Duggan, Seth Girad, Thomas Sullivan, and Jack Wensky, the DIY band from Central Mass. just finished out their tour run at Warehouse XI. The fun wasn’t over since there were repeated crowd surfing and endless moshing from fans. During their performance,Good Sleepy expressed lots of gratitude for their time spent
performing alongside the other bands this summer, but they also put a lot of energy into enjoying their time on stage. At one point, Duggan sang closely into the phone of a fan and Girad played from standing on a speaker. It was chaotic, funny, but most importantly extremely joyful.
