PHOTOS: Gouge Away, Mannequin Pussy in Providence, RI (09.12.25)
Florida-founded Gouge Away took to an electrically charged room on Friday, accompanied by Philadelphia-based Mannequin Pussy at Fete Music Hall in Providence, RI. The sold-out show was packed with excited concert-goers all night. The room filled out quickly before Gouge Away began an exceptional set, with fans yelling along to their raw and vulnerable lyrics. Towards the end of the set, their vocalist jumped down from the stage to share the mic with a pocket of fans in the crowd. Mannequin Pussy’s energetic and eclectic vibe overtook the room the moment they came out, with fans dancing and singing along to every song. It was a whirlwind of flawless vocals, moving hips, and hands in the air as they ran through the headlining set. Both Mannequin Pussy and Gouge Away released LPs in March 2024- I Got Heaven and Deep Sage, respectively. Both ushered in a new and fresh take on each band’s style.
