PHOTOS: The Wombats, Only the Poets in Boston, MA (11.14.25)
On the heels of releasing their sixth studio album, Oh! The Ocean, Liverpool-based indie rockers The Wombats were back in New England on Friday night for the first time in two years. Now in their 22nd year together, the indie vets have built a core fan base in New England, many of whom traveled from Maine or Rhode Island to see the band play in Boston. While the tour is to support the new record, there were plenty of cuts from previous ones as well, including staple tracks like “Greek Tragedy” and “Let’s Dance to Joy Division.” They’ve brought along budding Britpop outfit Only the Poets with them, who are gearing up to release their debut album in January.
