British singer-songwriter Paris Paloma made her way back to Boston on March 9thto a sold-out Royale crowd on The Cacophony Tour. She rose to fame with her hit single “labour” which focuses on the trauma that woman have dealt with throughout history. The community that has been cultivated at this show is unique. The merch table all had shirts that were hand drawn and the ability to contribute to the Little Free Library. Paloma talks about how she wants to have a space for people and it’s clear that her vision has come to life greater than she could have imagined.

The 16-song set were songs from her debut album “Cacophony”. A notable favorite moment in the show was when she sang “Knitting Song” with the show’s support Sarah Julia. The songs that were chosen highlighted the strength and raw emotions that come from both Paloma’s lyrics and vocal talent. The crowd was in awe and singing back whole heartedly when she performed songs like “The Rider” and “The Hunter.” She spoke about the frustration she feels with the current state of the world, and performed an unreleased track that got her back into writing after taking a break.

The closing song of the night was “LABOUR-the cacophony.” The crowd was chanting back word for word and it was one of the most empowering moments I have felt in a long time. The whole show was magical and everything from the fan dress code, to the merch table, to the set design and the music made the whole experience4 so memorable. The show gave everyone a sense of camaraderie through the experience even joining hands and waltzed until they had to leave.
