LIVE REVIEW + PHOTOS: Maude Latour, Maris in Boston, MA (03.18.25)

In 2019 my best friend showed me a TikTok of a student at Columbia University, little did I know only a few short years later she would release her debut album Sugar Water in 2024. I was lucky enough to be able to photograph Maude Latour the first time she performed in Boston in 2022. Since then, she has not only grown in her discography, but with her fan base and her incredible stage presence.

The March 18th show at the Royale was a perfect example of how she has been able to reach so many people. The crowd was so welcoming and immediately brought the energy for Maris, who’s supporting Maude this tour. The set was filled with fast paced songs that complemented Latour’s sound and vibe very well. The crowd knew a lot of her songs and even put together a fan project during one of her songs, it was clear how moved she was by the gesture.

Maude Latour’s set started with “Officially Mine” off Sugar Water. It has been so rewarding to see her stage presence develop since her first show. Latour performed a mix of new and older songs which connected the older and newer fans. The set was very fast paced she even bringing a water gun on stage and spraying the crowd during “Sugar Water”. Latour took time in between songs to talk to the crowd, even singing “Save Me” from the middle of the audience. It was a touching moment and you can tell how much she cares for her fans. The encore started from the balcony where Latour had an outfit and shoe change before coming back down to stage before closing out with “Cursed Romantics”. Maude Latour puts on such an incredible show and I cannot wait to see where she goes from here as she continues her growth as an artist.
