PHOTOS: Seisiún Day One – Dropkick Murphys, The Hold Steady + more in Boston, MA (09.07.25)

Last weekend, The Stage at Suffolk Downs was taken over by Seisiún, a two-day Irish music and culture festival. Day one featured a battle between the festival and mother nature as the show was interrupted by a nearly two hour weather day due to thunder and lightning storms. But nonetheless managed to be a rousing success. In addition to the music there was also a side Irish step dancing display and vendors with authentic imported Irish goods include Claddagh rings, sweaters, scally caps and even Irish breakfast tea. As far as musical performances the crowd got the opportunity to see NOLA natives Holy Locust, Australian celtic punk group The Rumjacks, Irish imports The Scratch, Brooklyn-based outfit The Hold Steady and of course Boston’s own Dropkick Murphys. Stiff Little Fingers was also scheduled to play, but had their set cut during the weather delay. The delay also forced The Hold Steady and Dropkicks to shorten their sets a bit. But once DKM went on all felt right for the Boston crowd. Check out photos from day one of Seisiún below.
