Spirits were high last Friday as BAD BRGR in Manchester filled up for a long anticipated show celebrating the release of album “Steps” by Boston-based punks, Cigarette Camp. Accompanied by openers Donaher, Cozy Throne, and Unseemlier, the show was well-rounded and full of top-notch performers. Donaher of Manchester opened the night with their signature line, “We are Donaher, and these are love songs.” People were dancing and singing along as they played their rock n roll love letters. Next up was Cozy Throne, another Manchester-based group. Their funky rock pop overflowed the room with flawless vocals and exceptional guitar work. Unseemlier was next, performing many songs off of their newest album “I have a screw loose, somewhere” from last June. The Boston-based group delighted the crowd with their sound that’s a little heavy to be described as emo, but also a little soft to be described simply “punk.” And finally, Cigarette Camp took to the stage, barraging the crowd with their quick tempo, in your face punk, perfect to dance and sing along with. Their new album was recorded & mixed by Brenden Meade at Blackheart Sound in Manchester, and mastered by Will Killingsworth at Dead Air Studios in Western MA. With 19 songs in 19 minutes, for those that love people who yell, it’s perfect. Give it a listen- you’ve got the time.
