PHOTOS: Joyce Manor, Saturdays at Your Place, FFO Chillin in Nashua, NH (06.06.26)
Punk fans filled out the Nashua Center for the Arts last Saturday, excited to see Joyce Manor on their first trip to New Hampshire, all the way from Torrance, CA. Nashua’s about an hour north of Boston, which is the journey most New Hampshire fans take to see their favorite artists. It’s a rare occurrence to see a band of this notoriety play in the Granite State- and an even rarer occurrence to see them play in Nashua of all cities. New Hampshire stops are usually reserved for the Bank of NH pavilion in Gilford, or the SNHU arena in Manchester- two massive venues that generally see mainstream artists.
It brings up the dilemma- where is there a medium sized venue in New Hampshire for bands like Joyce Manor? Well, apparently, Nashua. The Nashua Center for the Arts opened back in 2023, but has not seen a show quite like this yet. With the way it sold out quickly and fans buzzed about it leading up to the event, we can hope this will not be the last time. Accompanied by midwest emo power house Saturdays at Your Place, and local heroes FFO Chillin, the show was packed with energy from start to finish. FFO Chillin started the night off strong, playing a great set to the enjoyment of fans and friends. Saturdays at your Place followed up with banger after banger- fans were moshing and yelling the words the entire set. Joyce Manor closed out the night playing a large array of hits from their new album, I Used to Go to this Bar, as well as old favorites such as the incomparable “Constant Headache.”
Crowd surfers abounded during the entire set, while everyone in the room seemed to be yelling along to every line. When their set ended, fans demanded an encore- the band returned to the stage, and asked for requests, which fans were happy to oblige. They closed out the night with the
nostalgic, beloved hit “5 Beer Plan.” Joyce Manor’s been on tour largely since early March, with a small break in April, supporting their newest album. Tour wraps up at the end of June in Cincinnati, where they will return home- hopefully to write the next set of their fans’ favorite songs.
