Boston’s newest music venue the soon to be opened City Winery in the West End has begun to fill up their schedule. Frank Turner, Art Garfunkel, and Rufus Wainwright are amongst the names the venue has listed on the calendar section of their website.

The City Winery brand currently operates venues in New York, Chicago, Nashville, and Atlanta and has been around since 2008. It is billed as an ‘urban winery, restaurant and live music venue’ and City Winery founder Michael Dorf boasts that it will hold as many as 300 live events a year once it’s fully operational.

The venue will be located at One Canal Street, just steps from TD Garden and across from Haymarket MBTA stop. City Winery locations in Chicago and New York allow customers the opportunity to create their own barrels of wine, in addition to the over 400-plus bottle wine list they already have.

The concert space will be a little bit different than what Boston is used to, as it will feature tables and chairs and a fully functioning restaurant, an estimated capacity of 100 promises to make the shows that take place there very intimate and unique. The proximity to TD Garden also leaves a very interesting potential for artists headlining the arena to perform after party and surprise shows as well.

The first event listed at City Winery is Rik Emmett of Triumph performing an acoustic set on September 17th. To check out their full calendar click here.
