PHOTOS: Land of Talk, Half Waif @ Brighton Music Hall 06.13.17
Canadian alt rock outfit Land of Talk have been around since 2006 and since then have maintained a loyal, devoted core group of fans. The band’s sole constant member Elizabeth Powell is now the only remaining original member of the group, but she has assembled a band that know how to rock a house. On Tuesday night Powell and her band made their way to the Brighton Music Hall in Boston, MA to kick off their North American tour in front of their New England fans. Supporting them on this run is indie pop artist Half Waif. Half Waif is the side-project of Pinegrove member Nandi Rose Plunkett and explores a more theatrical form of indie pop with a piano foundation. (Think Florence + the Machine in their early days) The two bands provided Boston with a loose, fun, upbeat rock show that made a Tuesday night feel a little more like a weekend.
