LIVE REVIEW: The Unlikely Candidates at the Middle East Club! (5/31)

Last night I walked into the packed Middle East Upstairs room to see what Fort Worth, TX’s The Unlikely Candidates were all about and color me impressed! The band’s energy is undeniable and they had a serious crowd in the packed room where they shared fans with fellow tourmates Brick & Mortar. The two bands make the perfect touring team as both are well known for the insanely energetic performances they consistently put on! With last night being the first date of the tour, it’s only sure to get even crazier as the tour progresses.

The front row or two were singing every word beginning with the opening track of the set, “Danger to Myself”, which screamed radio rock. As did the rest of the jam packed thirty minute set with I’m pretty sure not a word to the crowd besides introducing a few songs through out. I’m pretty sure front man Kyle Morris spent just as much time in the crowd as he did on the stage and the crowd in attendance were all over it. Big reactions from the crowd came for “Celebrate”, the track the band wrote with The Dirty Heads as well as for “Best Things in Life Aren’t Free”.

Having to cut their planned set short, the band ended on 2016 hit, “Love Can Start A War” and left the stage to huge applause! With last night being the first night of the band’s tour, make sure to catch them in your city!
