Editor’s note: Indie rock in the early 2000’s looked a lot different than it does now. Guitar driven garage rock such as The White Stripes and The Strokes dominated the indie/alt scene back then. Nowadays the genre is more based around synths and other electronic insturments with bands such as Grouplove, Bastille, and Foster the People checking in on the charts. But between then and now there were a select few albums that bridged the gap. One of those albums was Ra Ra Riot’s The Rhumb Line. An initial success, the album has only grown in popularity since as it serves as a major link in the indie rock chain. 2018 marks the album’s 10th anniversary and Ra Ra Riot are celebrating the occasional. A limited edition vinyl comes out today, and last night the band kicked off a short tour in which they’re playing the album in it’s entirety. Check out photos from the scene below!
