HOT GIG ALERT: Miya Folick @ Great Scott in Boston, MA (Friday, 3/1)
Raised in Santa Ana, CA, Los Angeles-based recording artist and performer Miya Folick first rose to public attention with her 2015 debut EP, Strange Darling, which drew praise from the likes of The New York Times and NPR, landed a featured spot in Netflix’s hit show “13 Reasons Why,” and accumulated over 7 million Spotify streams to date. Her follow up, 2017’s Give It To Me EP, captured the electric energy of her live performances and drew widespread critical acclaim.
In October 2018, Folick released her full-length debut album, Premonitions. An under the radar gem, Premonitions was a late year favorite for many. A listen through the album will quickly reveal what stands out the most about Folick, her vocals. A dynamic and soaring voice built for festival stages Folick is the kind of artist who could make the jump from relatively unknown to a major pop star in under a year.
She’s curretly on her first ever North American headline tour and will be in the New England area this weekend.
