Editor’s note: Canadian ‘funeral pop’ collective The Strumbellas launched their US tour last night right here in New England at House of Blues in Boston, MA. The band is heading out on the road in support of their brand new album Rattlesnake which was released in March. Rattlesnake is the first LP of new material since The Strumbellas newfound success in the US behind their monster single “Spirits” in 2016. “Spirits” made it all the way to #1 on the US Alternative charts and introduced the band to a whole new audience in the US.

Wednesday’s show kicked off with a bit of playfulness as Strumbellas drummer Jeremy Drury came out in a Bruins jersey. The stickman for the Toronto based group said he had “lost a bet with himself” on the outcome of the recent Boston vs Toronto playoff series. Drury took the jersey off after a couple of songs and handed it off to a fan in the front row.
