HOT GIG ALERT: dodie @ House of Blues in Boston, MA (9/7)
Dodie Clark is a shining example of what the modern world of pop music has become. Performing under the moniker dodie, she launched her own career performing ukulele and piano covers and posting the videos on her YouTube channel. Eventually, she branched out and began performing original songs. With over 1.8 million subscribers she has independently carved out a fan base for herself and has launched a touring career.
Her most recent EP, Human, came out in January and peaked at No. 5 on the UK albums chart, while also cracking the Billboard 200 in the USA. It is her third EP, all of which have landed in the top 40 of the UK albums, all done without label backing. dodie brings her music directly to the people, the way that Generation Z is now consuming music.
She just kicked off her biggest US headline tour to date and makes her way to New England this weekend.
