Editor’s note: Boston garage punk trio Black Beach dropped their newest album, Tapeworm, back in October and it was one of our favorite local releases of 2019. The songs on Tapeworm hit on topics such as climate change, capitalism, nostalgia and the echo chamber in which the internet allows us to exist, though the overarching theme of the record is the anxiety of living in our current political and social climate. The band toured in support of the record late in the fall making it as far as Seattle, WA. Here in the new year they’re back home and on Saturday night took over Great Scott for an absolutely stacked local bill that also featured Labor Hex, Chrome Over Brass, and Adam McGrath of Nomad Stones/Cave In. We were on hand to capture some photos from the gig, check them out below.
