Canadian singer/songwriter Afie Jurvanen who records under the moniker Bahamas recently crossed the border to bring his new album Sad Hunk to his United States fans. A well accomplished and multiple JUNO Award winning artist in Canada, Bahamas was introduced to US audiences in 2014 by a TV commercial for Verizon Wireless in which his song “All The Time” was used. The song went Top 10 in the Adult Alternative Airplay charts. But it would be a mistake to reduce him to “that one guy with the song in the Verizon ad” – in fact, Bahamas aforementioned 2020 album Sad Hunk brought home the 2021 JUNO for Adult Alternative Album of the Year in his native Canada and he has several sold out shows booked in Canada throughout the remainder of the year. We caught his recent stop in New England on a tour with support from the always entertaining Langhorne Slim performing a solo set without his band, and fellow Canadian artist Sam Weber. Check out photos from the show below.
