Hot Gig Alert (06.16-06.18): Re:SET Series brings three of music’s hottest acts

In a lot of minds 2023 is the year of boygenius, the supergroup featuring Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus, and Julien Baker have already taken the music world by storm opening the year with a February feature on the cover of Rolling Stone. In March they released their first full-length studio album under the boygenius moniker, an album simply titled The Record. It immediately shot up on the Billboard 200, peaking at No.4 on the chart, and earning a perfect score from DIY, NME, and Rolling Stone among others.

Meanwhile R&B superstar Steve Lacy spent the better part of 2022 on the top of several charts behind his monster single “Bad Habit” that hit No.1 on the Hot 100, and managed to top five different charts in the US alone. The single also helped drive his second studio album Gemini Rights to peak at No. 7 on the Billboard 200. If that wasn’t enough, Lacy took home the Grammy Award for Best Progressive R&B Album at the 65th award show.

Dance-rock legends LCD Soundsystem have also been a popular name in the post-pandemic era, opting for concert residencies over full scale tours. In 2021 they held an impressive twenty night run at Brooklyn Steel, followed by residencies in select cities worldwide in 2022, including a four night stay at Roadrunner in Boston, MA.

This coming weekend you can catch all three at the Re:SET Concert Series visiting The Stage at Suffolk Downs in East Boston. The Stage at Suffolk Downs is Bowery Boston’s new outdoor GA venue with Re:SET holding the distinction of being the opening weekend for the venue. In addition to the three headliners you’ll also be able to catch hometown hero Clairo plus names like IDLES, James Blake, Bartees Strange and several more.
