Last night, Baltimore based synth-pop group Future Islands kicked off the US leg of their tour in support of their latest album, People Who Aren’t There Anymore. The record is the band’s seventh studio album and their first new release in four years. Playing a setlist comprised mostly of songs from the new album, enigmatic frontman Samuel T. Herring introduced many of the songs with anecdotes about how the songs were written. Fellow Baltimore group Ed Schrader’s Music Beat provided support for the show, with Schrader joining Future Islands to perform “Shadows” a cut from the groups’ 2017 album The Far Field. Check out photos of both sets from last night’s show below.
