Irish singer Orla Gartland announces new album + single, kicks off US tour in Boston in November

It’s no secret that New England – specifically Boston – is one of the premiere markets for Irish artists. That may be why Irish singer-songwriter Orla Gartland has scheduled her first ever North American headline show for Boston on November 7th. Today, Gartland announced her sophomore studio album, Everybody Needs A Hero, due October 4th, a month ahead of her North American Tour. The album’s first single, “The Hit” is out now.

Pre-order or pre-save the album – HERE.

“The Hit” taps into the good and bad of feeling deep empathy for one another when you’re so close to somebody that you take on their struggles and start to become the same person. Gartland describes the relationship in question as “like a voodoo doll thing… you’re so connected it hurts.” Orla explains, “It’s a nice gesture, because you’re admitting you care about that person so much that when they’re in pain you feel it too, but there’s a point that it can go too far and that’s just not healthy or sustainable.”

Everybody Needs A Hero will feature already released singles Little Chaos,” “Mine,” “Kiss Ur Face Forever and today’s album highlight “The Hit,” showcasing a slightly softer side to the record. Everybody Needs a Hero is the follow-up to Gartland’s 2021 full-length debut album, Woman on the Internet, that contributed millions of listens to her over 250 million streams to date, and helped to foster a deeper connection with Gartland’s dedicated fan base worldwide.

Gartland’s North American tour will run through the end of November; see blow for full routing. The tour kickoff in Boston is at The Red Room at Cafe 939, and the show, along with the rest of her tour is currently sold out. But you can sign up for alerts if tickets become available HERE.
