Editor’s note: The final day of every Newport Folk Festival is always special in it’s own way. This year particularly so as legendary comedian, talk show host, and musician Conan O’Brien performed a set billed as “Conan O’Brien and real musicians” a group of unannounced guests that included Jack White and Mavis Staples. Standout performances from the day also included Sierra Ferrell, Brittany Howard, and Boston’s Dropkick Murphys.
