PHOTOS: Silverada, Jason Scott & the High Heat in Cambridge, MA (08.27.24)
American country outfit Silverada – formerly known as Mike and the Moonpies – ushered in a new era in 2024 when they put out what’s now a self-titled record. After eight records under their previous name the band decided to take things in a new direction on Silverada. “Back in the day, all we wanted to do was play the Broken Spoke,” said frontman Mike Harmeier, referring to a local venue where the group got their start playing shows. “We had different aspirations back then. We were still figuring out what kind of band we were gonna be, and that took a lot of time and a lot of records.” With their new name and new attitude the band has hit the road touring in support of the album. It’s an ambitious run of dates that brought them up to New England for the first time since a 2019 visit to the departed Atwood’s Tavern.
