Editor’s note: Tennessee-born country rapper Jelly Roll was in New England on Thursday night, touring ahead of his new record Beautifully Broken due out October 11th. Jelly Roll, who’s real name is Jason DeFord, has seen a massive spike in popularity over the last three years taking him from an underground artist to an arena headliner. Though Beautifully Broken is DeFord’s tenth album it’s taken until now for him to find his way into the mainstream. His first New England area performance was not until 2021 when he visited as a support act for Shinedown. Taking over TD Garden in Boston, Jelly Roll brought along support acts Warren Zeiders and Alexandra Kay.
