Last night Arts at the Armory in Somerville, MA hosted bands Oolong, Ogbert the Nerd, and Michael Cera Palin for the We Could be Brave Tour. Ogbert the Nerd kicked the night off, playing original songs and a couple incredible covers; “Shipping up to Boston” (Dropkick Murphys), “Yankee Doodle Dandy” (George Cohan), and “Check Yes Juliet” (We The Kings). The second band of the night, Oolong, really got the audience into their set, pulling members of the crowd up on stage while others crowd surfed. Finally, Michael Cera Palin came on stage, playing songs old and new including their hit “If It Makes You Happy”. Their newest album, released in March 2025, shows their growth as a band and as people through not only the lyrics but the instrumentals as well. It is absolutely worth checking out, or heading to one of the shows on this tour. Sadly, the sound system was having issues at the Somerville show last night, so it was a little hard to hear the band’s vocals, but man can these guys play.
