Need a way to shake up your Monday blues? Toronto’s LØLØ will make her long-anticipated return to Boston this Monday at Brighton Music Hall. The room is the perfect fit for the burgeoning pop-rock powerhouse who will be capping off her tour with this date in particular. LØLØ melds punk-girl energy that taught us everything like Avril Lavigne with artists like Olivia Rodrigo and Sabrina Carpenter mixed in. While LØLØ has steadily been releasing music since 2018, the last few years have propelled LØLØ to heights early on that many could only hope for. Her second album, god forbid a girl spits out her feelings!, only dropped this August, and while it’s sure to be highlighted in Monday’s show, LØLØ shared with me how she’s been planning these sets: “It’s a fair bit of new songs, but of course I have tons of fan favorites. We gotta play the hits! Curating it was pretty hard, to be honest; I wanted to play every song, but it couldn’t be three hours long. But if it could be… I’d do it!! I have so much fun.”

From taking a look at the setlists of the past few shows, there’s definitely a handful of tracks from the new moments, but also moments that will appeal to longtime fans of LØLØ. Be it the early smash hits like “u turn me on (but you give me depression),” as well as dancy “pretty little wreck,” as well as a cover or two, the night is sure to have something for everybody. One cover that will be sure to be part of the performance Monday night is a cover of Plain White T’s, “Hey There Delilah,” a special manifested moment for LoLo recently. With the aforementioned Plain White T’s inviting LØLØ to join them for a revamped cover of the band’s anthemic hit. LoLo shared with me honestly, a manifestation of what was to come, in speaking about the collaboration:

“I’m still absolutely shocked that it happened, to be honest … and I’m not really sure how it did, haha. Six years ago, I put up a cover from Delilah’s POV, and it went viral, and Plain White T’s noticed me. They commented and reposted, and I couldn’t believe that. Six years later, they randomly remembered I did that and asked me to be on an official version. I would have thought that ship had sailed, but apparently not. I guess sometimes good things take time. To me, this is the most iconic song, and I always wondered who Delilah was and what she looked like … it’s so crazy to me that I get to be her now!”

Monday’s show is sure to be a show where fans will unite and feel honestly the safest they’ve felt in a long time at a show. It brings back to mind when I caught an act from my youth, The Veronicas, at Royale back in 2024. The crowd was composed purely of millennial girls and gay guys, all just swilling on a cocktail or three and screaming every word of the electronic duo’s set. From what I can see, a LØLØ show is something that can’t be missed. It will be a veteran performance, one filled with laughter and mutual bonding. When I asked LØLØ what makes a show of hers something that should be on your calendar, it brought to mind another artist that has been blowing up these past few years with Zolita (it’s probably the pom-poms, to be fair). LØLØ shared, “I mean, where else can you scream about your ex, get group therapy, and potentially get hit in the face with a pom-pom all in one night? Whether you know every word or it’s your first time listening to me, I think you’ll leave feeling like best friends who have all been collectively wronged by the same person.”

Limited tickets are still available for Monday’s show; it’s sure to be the last time you find an artist like LoLo in an intimate space like Monday’s show will bring. Post this tour, she’s keeping busy, with a return to touring with fellow Canadians Simple Plan as support on their Southeast Asia run in November. This before she heads to Australia for Good Things Festival, and LØLØ shared that there’s more to come for her in these next few months, including, ahem, a new record. She shared a glimpse into her plans, saying, “I’m so excited to go to Asia & Australia!!! I can’t wait to explore the cities and perform to new audiences… I hope they like me! I’m also really excited to take some time off from touring and get back into writing. It’s time to write a new album, which sounds crazy!!”

Limited remaining tickets can be found here. Doors are at 7:00 pm, with Sydney Sherrill as well as Mylie Taylor kicking off the show at 8:00 pm!
