LIVE REVIEW + PHOTOS: Foster the People in Boston, MA (10.06.26)
Energy was high as fans packed into MGM Music Hall on Tuesday the 6th of October for Foster the People’s Good Mourning Sunshine Tour. This tour follows the album Paradise State of Mind, which came out in 2024. The production theme is around “dancing through destruction” so there are hybrid visuals of an LED wall house with a projector above, which made the audience very engaged.
The 15 song setlist consisted of classics and a few newer songs that left fans eagerly wanting more. The show started off with “Life on the Nickel” which was off of their 2011 album Torches. It then shifted into more upbeat songs like “Helena Beat” and “Don’t Stop (Color on the Walls). Within the classic hits, the band also had some new songs from the recent album in there as well such as, “ Lost in Space”, “Lotus Eater” and “A Diamond to Be Born”. It gave the fans both old and new a part of the show they could resonate with.
The band closed with the crowd favorite “Pumped Up Kicks.” It was clear to see that after a few years off, the band can still draw a very energetic and enthusiastic crowd for a weekday. I am excited to see what the rest of the tour brings for the band and to make sure I see them the next time they are in Boston!
