Hot Gig Alert (4/8): Weakened Friends makes their return to Boston tonight

The Portland, ME-based trio that is Weakened Friends is making their return to Boston tonight, and while it is in an opening position, this is something you don’t want to miss. The band has been out on tour for a week or so with Philly legends The Wonder Years along with Knuckle Puck as main support, and despite the set surely being a bit of a short one tonight, it’s sure to be a set of only the best from a group who’s name has been made off the electricity of one of their live performances, and the ripping vocals from Sonia Sturino.

The band is fresh off a full US headliner, as well as their latest release, Feels Like Hell, the band’s third album. Only released last fall, it has been a defining album for the band and is sure to be sprinkled throughout the set tonight. Tonight’s show has very limited tickets left, so if you can’t catch this one, or if you’re a Wonder Years fan that will surely walk away from tonight’s performance wanting more, lucky for you, the band will be back in the area in May. The band has a short run planned to get them to Pouzza Fest in Montreal, and while it’s a short hop from MA, in  Providence on May 15th, it’s sure to be a banger.

The band hits the stage first, and with 6 pm doors and a very loyal Wonder Years audience base, I strongly suggest getting in line pretty early. You don’t want to miss a very big kick-off to the night, an incredible cover of “Torn,” and the excellence that has come to be known with Weakened Friends.

Limited tickets can still be picked up here, the floor is sold out, but there are still some great views from the mezzanine!
