Oxford, Mississippi folk group Happy Landing spent Sunday night captivating Brighton Music Hall in Boston with a night of indie folk rock drawn largely from material on their latest album, Big Sun. The record is their second full length album, following up 2024’s Golden, released after a string of EPs from 2020-2023. A strong ground game, touring almost nonstop is what has sustained Happy Landing so far, and help them build a strong reputation as a live act. Sunday’s show kicked off with “The River,” the opening track off Big Sun before alternating between material from their two albums for the rest of the night. For the song “My, My, My” frontman Matthew Hendley took his acoustic guitar and mic stand and jumped down to the floor to perform within the crowd. The band has local ties as Hendley’s father hails from the New England area, meaning he had family on hand. Check out photos from Happy Landing’s recent Boston, MA visit below.
