Editor’s note: Newburyport, MA native Djo was back in his native region of New England earlier this week, playing an off-day headline show in the midst of his tour as direct support for Tame Impala, currently hitting arenas across the US. Playing through the rain at Thompson’s Point in Portland, Djo was greeted by a crowd full of anticipation, many of whom had made their way north from other New England states. He’s still touring in support of his most recent album, The Crux, which debuted in April of 2025. Supporting Djo on this week’s show was Aussie rock band Pond, who are currently drumming up interest in their new record Terrestrials. It’s their eleventh studio album since forming in 2008. New England Sounds welcomes our newest contributor, Katherine Keenan, who was on-site in Portland on Tuesday. Check out her photos below.
