wilt made a dent on Paradise Rock Club on August 23rd, turning a 30-minute opening slot into a statement that was impossible to ignore. Fronted by Chelsea Rifkin and backed by guitarists Aaron Liebman and Andrew Vance and drummer Dan Bermudez, the Los Angeles alt-rock outfit commanded a crowd that was engaged from the moment the lights first dimmed.
Rifkin was the band’s clear center of gravity, with a voice that moved effortlessly from soft and controlled to full-throated and heavy, never sacrificing its precision along the way. Whenever wilt leaned into its heavier side, the room responded in kind, with the crowd’s energy rising to meet them.
Their newest single, “dent,” emerged as the night’s defining moment, with the track’s title feeling less like a coincidence and more like a mission statement… wilt played like a band trying to leave a mark, even with only half an hour to do it. On Sunday night in Boston, they did exactly that.
