LIVE REVIEW + PHOTOS: Two Door Cinema Club in Boston, MA (09.29.26)
Northern Irish rock band Two Door Cinema Club released their debut album “Tourist History” in 2010 and it was the album that put this band on the map. When they released a deluxe edition in 2026, an anniversary tour was set. The setlist consisted of feel-good classics and newer songs that the crowd loved from start to finish.
On the penultimate night of September, fans braved the raindrops as they filed into MGM Music Hall in Boston to see a show they have been looking forward to for years. The crowd filled with millennials and new fans alike, and after an exciting opener, they were ready for the main act.
A montage of the past performance introductions played through the speakers, that kept the band’s history as the main focal point of this performance, left the crowd waiting in anticipation. Then with loud roaring cheers, lead singer Alex Trimble, guitarist Sam Halliday and bassist Kevin Baird took the stage, along with two fellow band members on the drums and keys,
TDCC opened the set with “Cigarettes in the Theater,” their first track of “Tourist History”. The crowd was explosive and very excited to be hearing the now sixteen-year-old track again live. The contrast of the following song “I Can Talk” flowed nicely and kept everyone’s energy up. Throughout the set, they sprinkled in fan favorites like “What You Know” and “Something Good Can Work.” TDCC also made sure to add in some rare tracks like “Kids”, a song they have not performed live in years.
After growing up with some of these songs, it was truly a special show to see them live. It was an exciting trip down memory lane as the group revisited some of their less played songs.
