Editor’s note: East Coast thrash metal legends Overkill were in Worcester, MA on Friday night along with a stacked lineup featuring some other heavy bands. The group are out promoting their 2019 record The Wings of War, which is the band’s first full-length with drummer Jason Bittner on the kit. With Overkill’s lead guitarist Dave Linsk sitting out the current tour, Phil Demmel stepped in to fill the role, Demmel is known for playing guitar in Machine Head from 2002 to 2018 as well as filling in with Slayer and Lamb of God on previous tours. Supporting Overkill on this run are alt-metal group Prong, along with theatrical nu-metal outfit Cultus Black featuring members of the defunct Motograter, and on Friday night local openers Living Wreckage.
