Fitting a seven person ensemble onto one of the smallest stages in Boston is in and of itself a feat worthy of mentioning, but that was just the start of all the fun that String Machine brought to O’Brien’s Pub in Allston last night. The Pittsburgh, PA based buzz band are out on the road playing a short run of dates to promote their third LP, Hallelujah Hell Yeah, that just dropped on February 25th. The record is the much anticipated follow-up to their Pitchfork approved album Death of the Neon that put the group on the indie radar. Co-headlining the mini tour with String Machine are Philadelphia punk outfit Caracara who themselves are gearing up for an album release with their next studio album, New Preoccupations, coming out later this month. The two Pennsylvanian bands were joined by locals Pet Fox and Oldsoul last night for an entertaining Monday night in Boston.
