In 2019 we were on hand at the dearly departed Great Scott in Boston when The Driver Era played one of their first public shows together as a band. At the time they were kicking off their first headline tour since forming following the breakup of power pop band R5. They were also still working on their debut album, X, which would come out that October. Since then they’ve also released a second studio album, Girlfriend, last October. That’s lead them to a new headline tour that recently visited Boston, this time at a much larger venue, the 3,500 capacity Roadrunner less than two miles from the former site of Great Scott. Supporting The Driver Era on this run are San Diego based indie pop trio almost monday, who to date have released two EP’s and a slew of standalone singles including their most recent, “sun keeps on shining” on June 3rd.
