When it was announced in December of 2019, The Stadium Tour featuring Mötley Crüe and Def Leppard quickly became one of the hottest and most anticipated tours of 2020. We all know what happened next, pushing it to 2021 and then to 2022. Finally here in the summer of 2022, the bands are on the road and even though the New England weather attempted to force another rescheduling, the show went on. Playing out like a mini festival, gates opened at 3pm with opener Classless Act kicking off the music at 3:30. An hour long thunder and lightning delay interrupted the show and forced Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, and Poison to cut their sets from one hour to half an hour. Crüe and Leppard are swapping each night who gets to close the show, but both get 90 minute sets. On Friday it was Def Leppard who went first, starting at 7pm, with Mötley Crüe starting at 9pm. The night concluded with a fireworks display following “Kickstart My Heart” at the end of Mötley’s set. Though done with New England, the Stadium Tour continues through early September and is certainly worth traveling for. We were hard at work all day long, capturing photos during the show, and during the rain delay, look through them all below.
