Hot Gig Alert (06/02): Jake Swamp and the Pine Celebrate Debut Album Release at Brighton Music Hall

When Americana singer-songwriter Drew Zieff decided to record the debut album for his project Jake Swamp and the Pine he needed some help, so he enlisted a who’s who of local artists from Darlingside, STL GLD, Wolff Sisters, and Adam Ezra Group. The product was Simpson and Banks, a 30 minute, 10 song effort with a blend of different genres from folk to bluegrass.

Deciding to keep the album completely comprised of local artists was a decision Zieff is particularly proud of, especially in the face of a Boston music scene in a state of chaos with so many smaller venues closing during and after the pandemic. Prior to the album’s release Zieff made his bones play live shows on the local scene. In 2019 Jake Swamp and the Pine was nominated for Best New Act at the Boston Music Awards, and also been nominated for Best Americana Act for the past four years.

Simpson and Banks is available for streaming – HERE.
